This data mount replaces the OEM driver's window defrost vent on the top of the dash. It is designed around the AIM Solo series of Data Collection/Lap Timer devices, but could work with other accessories. Using a standard 1" Ram Arm, it securely locates the Solo in a better position for the driver that still allows immediate access, but without obstructing your view.

Made from FDM printed PETG-CF material with a focus around creating a cost-effective part that is both strong and durable. However it also had to be UV-resistant while still having an attractive finish without requiring post-process finishing.

The mount stemmed from the suction cup mounts falling off and/or how it always seemed to block part of my view. Took a professionally scanned OEM part and remodeled it using additive DFM to bolster strength and durability on both clips, ball mount, and Z-Axis strength.

Offering a few different versions:

FDM printed - PETG-CF material (Similar to car interior plastic). Comes in Black. Finish is more textured and rougher than the other versions.

MJF printed - PA12 material is a nylon plastic. Comes in Black or Gray. Standard finish is evenly textured matte finish. The vapor smoothing smooths the surface out and gives it a patterned look. (pattern varies)

SLA printed - Tough 1500 material is a resin plastic. Comes in only Gray. Smoothest finish. Higher comparative cost is primarily due to the additional post-processing steps of cleaning and curing that the others do not go through.

Installation: (I don't suggest installing or removing in sub-40F weather...it is a very firm fitment)

1) Slide the mount into position nose first

2) Rotate the mount slightly and push the top tap down into place

3) While pulling the ball mount down and towards you, push the front of the mount down until seated

4) Finally, push the near-side down into position. This may take some effort and a few sudden pushes usually work best.

5) Screw in the supplied screws. Just enough to seat the screw as shown in the picture.

Removal: (I don't suggest installing or removing in sub-40F weather...it is a very firm fitment)

1) Insert plastic-pry tool using the wider end into the front of the mount

2) Keep tension by pulling towards you on the mount ball

3) Gently work the tool towards the top side of the mount (towards windshield)

4) Keep gently prying the top side while pulling the ball mount. The idea is to have the section towards the windshield or door come out first.
